Memorial Day

“Rust”

Reflect on What You’ve Heard

  1. Rust can have big impacts on our lives and our relationships, what is an example of rusty faith that you have experienced in your life? How did it affect you?

  2.  Grant gave 3 ways to get rid of the rust (Go to Church, Confess and Repent, and Believe) of those 3 things, what is one that you are good at and one that could use more work?

  3. What are some things that you have tried to use to fuel you instead of your relationship with God? (i.e. friendships, spouse, kids, job, money, partying, etc.)

  4. What can you do this week to get rid of any of the rust on your faith? What can you do to make sure you are fueled by God?

Pray it Out

God, you are so good despite my shortcomings! Help me to look to you continually, amen.

Key Scriptures

  • “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” James 1:5
  • “I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars. 3 You have patiently suffered for me without quitting. 4 “But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first! 5 Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches.” Revelations 2:2-5

  • “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2
  • “And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6 And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.” Revelations 21:5-6
