“How to Escape Porn”

Reflect on What You’ve Heard

  1. What statistic was the most surprising to you from the message?
  2. Have you ever had something confessed to you and you handled it poorly?  If yes, share an example if possible.
  3. Have you ever received grace when you confessed something when you didn’t deserve it? If yes, share an example if possible.
  4. What conversations are you needing to bring to your closest relationships?
  5. What would running from temptation look like in your life?
  6. If you have kids, how have you been doing on having conversations on sex?  Rate yourself on a scale from 1-10. What do you need to do to make that score better?

CHALLENGE:: Out of the 3 action steps Pastor John mentioned (talk to your kids, make a safe place for confession & run from temptation) what is one that you can start implementing into your weekly routine?

Pray it Out

God, help me to escape the struggles in my life! Thank you for giving me the ability to deny desires and to seek repentance, thank you.

Key Scriptures

  • “’You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”’ Matthew 5:27-28
  • Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. 19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
  • God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12
