Discussion Questions
- What does it look like to “humble yourself under God’s mighty hand” in the context of anxiety and fear? How have you experienced (or resisted) that kind of humility in your own life?
- The message used the phrase “cast, not carry.” What are some specific worries you’re tempted to keep holding onto, and what might it look like to fully “cast” them onto God? What makes it hard to let go completely?
- The talk described worry and anxiety as spiritual warfare. How do you typically respond when anxiety hits—do you stand firm, retreat, or something else? What helps you resist the lies anxiety tells you?
- What does “God will restore you” mean to you personally? Have you ever experienced restoration after a season of fear or worry? What did that look like?
- Looking back at David’s example in Psalm 131, what practices help you quiet your soul in a chaotic world? How can we learn to be more like a “weaned child” with God—at peace in His presence even when things aren’t fixed yet?
