Seeds of Kindness

Guest Pastor: Bob Merritt
May 24, 2026 // Other

In “Seeds of Kindness,” Pastor Bob reminds us that we can’t control the condition of someone’s heart, but we can choose to faithfully sow seeds of love. Through kindness, truth, prayer, and simple moments of courage, God can use our everyday relationships to point people toward Jesus.

Sermon Discussion Questions
  1. The story begins with people living “on the other side of the bushes.” Who in your life feels easy to avoid, ignore, or keep at a distance?
  2. Jesus’ parable in Mark 4 reminds us that we cannot control the condition of someone’s heart, but we can control whether we sow seeds. What does “sowing seeds” look like practically in your everyday life?
  3. The message says, “Love has a speed,” and that love listens, slows down, and takes time. Where do you need to slow down enough to actually notice and love someone?
  4. Pastor Bob admitted he waited too long to talk with Kelly about faith because he was afraid. What fears keep you from inviting, praying for, or talking with someone about Jesus?
  5. The message ends with the prayer, “God help me see what you see, feel what you feel and love what you love.” Who might God be nudging you to see, care for, or reach out to this week?
