First Church Sends Mission Groups to Guatemala

First Church sends teams to Guatemala for different types of mission trips.

We work with Casas por Cristo to to build a house (no building experience needed!) for a family that was chosen by a local pastor in their community.

We work with Hunger Relief International where we can build latrines and/or deliver cookstoves and water filters to those in the mountains, as well as visit a local school in the community we minister to.

Most importantly, in both types of trips, we serve because of Jesus’ love for us and for those we are serving. Our goal is that the good news of Jesus Christ is proclaimed through our words and actions to the families we meet.

First Church is devoted to creating a better future and seeing eternities changed in Guatemala. We can’t wait to see what God has planned!

What We Do

Each day, no matter what type of trip we are doing, we build relationships with those we meet where our main goal is to share the good news about Jesus!

We also help with their physical needs, whether that is a need for shelter, a need for clean water, or clean cooking environments to improve their health.

Where We Stay

Depending on the trip, we may stay in dorms or a hotel. Either way, we are very well taken care of!

We are provided with great food, drinks, and transportation throughout our trips.

We Love God's People

We go because we love and care for the people God created and want to share Jesus with them. We love to build relationships and spend time with them!

This is a life changing trip. Not only are we building relationships with the people of Guatemala, but also with each other.

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:35

How Can I Go?

You’ll need a valid passport that doesn’t expire within 6 months of your trip date.

If you are under 18 we ask that you have an adult go with you to supervise. We’ve had 10 year olds and 70 year olds go on mission trips. If you’re healthy and can handle the some walking, we’d love for you to come with us! All different skill sets and types of people are needed!

The total trip cost varies depending on time of year and plane ticket costs. The range has been between $1,200 – $1,500, which includes airfare, lodging, breakfast & dinner, all transportation, and drinking water.

Spots are very limited so you’ll want to register now!

If you have any questions you can email Candiss Terborg at candiss@first.church
