Guatemala Mission Trips

First Church has sent teams to Guatemala for different types of trips.

Currently we are working with Casas por Cristo to to build a house (no building experience needed!) for a family that was chosen by a local pastor in their community.

In the past we have also worked with Hunger Relief International where we can built latrines for those in the mountains without proper sanitation, as well as visited a local school in the community.

Most importantly, we serve because of Jesus’ love for us and for those we are serving. Our goal is that the good news of Jesus Christ is proclaimed through our words and actions to the families we meet.

First Church is devoted to creating a better future and seeing eternities changed in Guatemala. We can’t wait to see what God has planned!

What We Do

Each day, no matter what type of trip we are doing, we build relationships with those we meet where our main goal is to share the good news about Jesus!

We are currently scheduling trips with Casas por Cristo to build a house for a family. No building experience is needed! We spend the week getting to know and build relationships with the family and community. Often times the family is right there with us helping us build.

Where We Stay

We will be staying in a facility setup for large groups. There are bunk beds and mostly warm showers 😊.

We are well taken care of and provided with great food, drinks, and transportation throughout our trips.

We Love God's People

We go because we love and care for the people God created and want to share Jesus with them. We love to build relationships and spend time with them!

This is a life changing trip. Not only are we building relationships with the people of Guatemala, but also with each other.

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:35

How Can I Go?

You’ll need a valid passport that doesn’t expire within 6 months of your trip date.

If you are under 18 we ask that you have an adult go with you to supervise. We’ve had 10 year olds and 70 year olds go on trips. If you’re healthy and can handle some walking and light activity, we’d love for you to come with us! All different skill sets and types of people are needed!

The total trip cost is currently $1,700, which includes airfare, lodging, breakfast & dinner, all transportation, and drinking water. This also pays for the cost of the house we will build for the family!

Spots are limited so you’ll want to register as soon as possible!
