Walking by Faith, Not by Sight 

In 1990, the doors opened for humanitarian work in Cambodia—a nation scarred by war and deep need. In response, a children’s home was established to care for abandoned and orphaned children. Over the past 30+ years, countless lives have been rescued from abuse, trafficking, and life-threatening situations. 

Today, Cambodia Train Up Children’s Home continues to be a place of refuge—offering safety, education, nourishment, and most importantly, the hope and love of Jesus Christ. Many of the children who once arrived broken and afraid are now strong members of the family of God in Cambodia. They’ve become pillars of the Church, living testimonies of redemption. 

Brett and Susan, originally from DeMotte, Indiana, raised four children of their own. With three now married, six granddaughters, two grandsons, and more on the way, they’ve come to cherish the blessings of family, church, and community—lessons learned through their obedience to God’s call to “GO.” 

Their journey in Cambodia began in 2009 where they left family, community to become Career Missionaries.  In 2012, they became Directors of Cambodia Train Up Children’s Home, serving alongside Compassion Ministry to reach children and youth with the love of Christ. 

In February 2020, the children were removed from the home they had known. Through prayer and trust in the Lord’s leading, Brett and Susan relocated to a new province. By January 2025, the children were settled into a new home—one filled with “New Hope.” From this place, they are now reaching out to the surrounding community, planting a church where none existed before. 

This is a story of faith, obedience, and transformation. And it’s still unfolding.
